DescriptionThe SparkFun RTK Surveyor is an easy to use GNSS receiver for centimeter-level positioning. Perfect for surveying, this preprogrammed device can also be used for autonomous driving, navigation, asset tracking and any other application where there is a clear view of the sky. The RTK Surveyor can also be used as a base station. With the flick of a switch, two RTK Surveyors can be used to create an RTK system capable of 14mm horizontal positional accuracy. The built-in Bluetooth(R)connection via an ESP32 WROOM enables the user to use the RTK Surveyor with their choice of GIS application on a phone or tablet. The built in battery allows field use for up to four hours and is compatible with common USB battery banks. This device can be used in four modes:GNSS Positioning(~30cm accuracy)GNSS Positioning with RTK(1.4cm accuracy)GNSS Base StationGNSS Base Station NTRIP ServerIn Position mode the device receives L1/L2 signals from a user-provided antenna and the high-grade GNSS receiver provides lat/long and altitude with accuracies around 300mm.In Positioning with RTK mode the device receives L1/L2 signals from the antenna and correction data from a base station. The correction data can be obtained from a cellular link to online correction sources or over a radio link to a 2nd RTK Surveyor setup as a base station. In Base Station mode the device is mounted to a temporary position(like a tripod)and begins transmitting correction data over a radio or internet connection. A base is often used in conjunction with a second unit set to 'Positioning with RTK' to obtain the 14mm relative accuracy. In Base Station NTRIP Server mode the device is mounted to a semi or permanently fixed position(like a roof)and connects over WiFi to transmit the correction data to a NTRIP caster so that any rover can access the correction data over a cellular or internet connection. This type of base is a very easy way to setup a very precise absolute correction source. Two cables are provided with the RTK Surveyor allowing a user to plug on our easy to use Serial Telemetry Radios or their own radio link. If a local correction source is within 10km, a user can also use their phone to provide correction data over the Bluetooth(R)link(no external radio needed!).Note:The SparkFun RTK Surveyor is just the enclosed device and does NOT include an antenna, serial telemetry radio, or associated mounting pieces. DescriptionThe SparkFun Wireless Joystick Kit provides an easy way to control your next XBee project. Before the wireless joystick, radio-controlled projects used hobby RC transmitters, the same ones used for RC cars, boats and planes. The problem with these transmitters is that many aren't customizable, and the ones that are tend to be too expensive for many of us. The Wireless Joystick Kit offers a custom wireless solution for those who want to control their project their own way.Equipped with the increasingly popular SAMD21 onboard, all you need is to assemble the SparkFun Wireless Joystick into the configuration you want and add your own XBee and lithium ion battery into the provided sockets. The Wireless Joystick Kit can be assembled into a configuration that utilizes dual joysticks for better RC steering robots(like tanks)or a single joystick configuration with four 12mm momentary pushbuttons(a setup similar to what older game consoles used). We have provided a full Hookup Guide that gives assembly instructions, as well as a tank-steering motor controller tutorial to help get you started! Please be aware that the SparkFun Wireless Joystick Kit isNOT supported on Windows 7/8due to a lack of support drivers for those specific OS's.Note:This kit will need to be assembled before use, so a beginner's knowledge of soldering will be required. Additionally, in an effort to keep shipping rates down and make this kit available to people throughout the world without delay, there is no XBee or lithium ion battery included.Get Started with the Wireless Joystick Kit Guide

DescriptionThe great thing about open source is that while SparkFun has designed our own MicroMod carrier boards, that does not stop you from creating your very own MicroMod carrier board. The MicroMod DIY Carrier Kit includes five M.2 connectors(4.2mm height), screws, and standoffs so that you can get all the special parts you may need to make your own carrier board.MicroMod uses the common M.2 connector. This is the same connector found on modern motherboards and laptops. There are various locations for the plastic 'key' on the M.2 connector to prevent a user from inserting an incompatible device. The MicroMod standard uses the 'E' key and further modifies the M.2 standard by moving the mounting screw 4mm to the side. The 'E' key is fairly common so a user could insert a M.2 compatible Wifi module but because the screw mount doesn't align, the user would not be able to secure an incompatible device into a MicroMod carrier board.MicroMod is a modular interface ecosystem that connects a microcontroller "processor board" to various "carrier board" peripherals. Utilizing the M.2 standard, the MicroMod standard is designed to easily swap out processors on the fly. Pair a specialized carrier board for the project you need with your choice of compatible processor!

DescriptionThe SparkFun MAX31855K Thermocouple Breakout is a simple 14-bit resolution, SPI-compatible, serial interface thermocouple digitizer that makes reading a wide range of temperatures possible. A thermocouple works by taking two wires made of dissimilar metals, connecting them at the two ends, and making a temperature gradient between one end and the other(a 'hot' end and a 'cold' one). Once this is achieved, a voltage potential is formed and current flows. The SparkFun Thermocouple Breakout takes a standard Type-K thermocouple in one end, digitizes the temperature measured and sends that data out the other end via a SPI interface, thereby interpreting the data and translating it for you to read! With the SparkFun Thermocouple Breakout, the thermocouple's hot junction can be read from -200℃ to +700℃ with an accuracy of ±2℃ while the cold junction, inside the MAX31855K, can only range from -20℃ to +85℃ while maintaining ±2℃ accuracy. The MAX31855K constantly measures the temperature of the cold junction using an internal temperature-sensing diode. The MAX31855K requires a power source from +3.0V to +3.6V(+3.0V nominal)and only draws 1.5mA maximum. The Thermocouple Breakout is designed to accept a standard thermocouple connector, for convenience and compatibility with probes you may already own. These connectors aren't necessary, and you could solder a thermocouple directly into the through-holes labeled '+' and '-'. If you decide to solder the thermocouple directly to the breakout board, it is recommended that the thermocouple be mounted for strain relief to avoid breaking the thin wires. Notches for a zip-tie or wire wrapping have been provided in the PCB opposite the header for this purpose.Features14-bit ResolutionSPI-Compatible, Serial Interface-200℃ to +700℃ Temperature Reading with ±2℃ Accuracy3.0V to 3.6V(+3.0V nominal)RequiredAccepts Type-K Thermocouple

DescriptionThese wireless receivers work with our 315MHz transmitters. They can easily fit into a breadboard and work well with microcontrollers to create a very simple wireless data link. Since these are only receivers, they will only work communicating data one-way, you would need two pairs(of different frequencies)to act as a transmitter/receiver pair.Note:These modules are indiscriminate and will receive a fair amount of noise. Both the transmitter and receiver work at common frequencies and don't have IDs. Therefore, a method of filtering this noise and pairing transmitter and receiver will be necessary. The example code below shows such an example for basic operation. Please refer to the example code and links below for ways to accomplish a robust wireless data link.Note:These receivers are almost identical to the RF link 434MHz receiver. DescriptionThe TFMini Plus is a ToF(Time of Flight)LiDAR sensor capable of measuring the distance to an object as close as 10 centimeters(+/- 5cm up to 6m)and as far as 12 meters(+/-1% starting at 6m)! As with all LiDAR sensors, your effective detection distance will vary depending on lighting conditions and the reflectivity of your target object, but what makes this sensor special is its size. Measuring only 35x18.5x21mm, the TFMini Plus allows you to integrate LiDAR into applications traditionally reserved for smaller sensors.Setting itself apart from the original TFmini, the TFmini Plus has been designed with an IP65 enclosure meaning its "Dust tight water resistant", and also passed the vibration test of drone level, which will greatly expand its application range. The TFMini Plus is easy to power at only 5V and easy to talk to using the UART communication protocol.Important:This product does not use laser light for ranging. Instead it contains an LED and optics. Many such systems are being marketed under the name "LiDAR," although it may be more appropriate to think of this device as a "Time-of-Flight Infrared Rangefinder". It differs significantly from traditional IR rangefinders in that it uses ToF to determine range and not triangulation ― as is performed by the Sharp GP-series devices.FeaturesOperating Range - 0.1m~12m1Accuracy - ±5cm@(0.1-6m), ±1%@(6m-12m)Distance resolution - 5mmFrame rate - 1-1000Hz(adjustable)Ambient light immunity - 70kluxOperating temperature - -20℃~60℃Enclosure rating - IP65Light source - LEDCentral wavelength - 850nmFOV - 3.6°Supply voltage - 5V±0.5VAverage current - ≦110mAPower consumption - 550mWPeak current - 500mACommunication level - LVTTL(3.3V)Material of enclosure - ABS+PCStorage temperature - -20℃~75℃Weight - 11gWire length - 30cm

The only board that cannot be used in conjunction with the MI:pro case is the SparkFun gamer:bit due to its edge connector being located in the center of the board.Note:The MI:pro Protector case only includes the parts found in the Includes Tab. This case doesNOTinclude a micro:bit, power source or mounting screws. These items will need to be purchased separately.FeaturesDimensions:Length:65mm.Width:37mm.Depth(without screws):12mm.Depth(with screws):18.5mm.Provides excellent protection to the BBC micro:bit whilst allowing access to the bottom pins.Full access to the A and B buttons on the BBC micro:bit.Attach a battery cage to the rear of the case with the supplied sticky fixer.Full access to pins and connections including the micro USB connector.Clear case material shows the on-board LEDs in perfect clarity. The case is compatible with versions 1 and 2 of the micro:bit. When used in conjunction with a battery holder, micro:bit projects can be fully mobile.

DescriptionIt's time to say hip hip array for this IR Breakout! The MLX90640 SparkFun IR Array Breakout is equipped with a 32x24 array of thermopile sensors creating, in essence, a low resolution thermal imaging camera. With this breakout you can detect surface temperatures from many feet away with an accuracy of ±1.5℃(best case). To make it even easier to get your low-resolution infrared image, all communication is enacted exclusively via I2C, utilizing our handy Qwiic system. However, we still have broken out 0.1"-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a breadboard. This specific IR Array Breakout features a 110°x75° field of view with a temperature measurement range of -40℃-300℃. The MLX90640 IR Array has pull up resistors attached to the I2C bus; both can be removed by cutting the traces on the corresponding jumpers on the back of the board. Please be aware that the MLX90640 requires complex calculations by the host platform so a regular Arduino Uno(or equivalent)doesn't have enough RAM or flash to complete the complex computations required to turn the raw pixel data into temperature data. You will need a microcontroller with 20,000 bytes or more of RAM. To achieve this, we recommend a Teensy 3.1 or above.Note:The I2C address of the MLX90640 is 0x33 and is hardware defined. A multiplexer/Mux is required to communicate to multiple MLX90640 sensors on a single bus. If you need to use more than one MLX90640 sensor consider using the Qwiic Mux Breakout. The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can't hook it up wrong.Get Started with the SparkFun IR Array Breakout GuideFeaturesOperating Voltage:3V-3.6VCurrent Consumption:~18mAField of View:110°x75°Measurement Range:-40℃-300℃Resolution:±1.5℃Refresh Rate:0.5Hz-64HzI2C Address:0x332x Qwiic Connection Ports

DescriptionThe MCP9600 Breakout is a high accuracy Thermocouple Amplifier equipped with an I2C interface, accessed over our Qwiic system. Inside the chip are two temperature sensors, one for the thermocouple itself(the hot junction)and one for the chip itself(the cold junction). As a result, the MCP9600 can read both the ambient temperature and the temperature of whatever you're trying to measure! The MCP9600 can do both with a resolution of 0.0625℃, and an accuracy of ±1.5℃(worst-case). The MCP9600 Thermocouple Amplifier is one of our many Qwiic compatible boards! Simply plug and go. No soldering, no figuring out which is SDA or SCL, and no voltage regulation or translation required! This version of the board comes equipped with screw terminals to allow for your own Thermocouple's wiring to be hooked up with the turn of a screw. This makes it perfect for a variety of applications, from measuring the temperature of your Crock-Pot to making sure your backyard induction furnace is up to temperature. In addition, the MCP9600 has four on-board temperature alerts that you can configure! Instead of constantly polling the sensor over I2C, you can set a temperature limit to trigger an interrupt when the temperature reaches a certain value. This frees up your microcontroller and your I2C bus to do more important things. It's also possible to put the MCP9600 into alternate operation modes in order to save power. The sensor supports a burst mode, where it will take a specified number of samples, return the results, and then go to sleep. This low-power mode makes the MCP9600 perfect for portable applications! We've written an Arduino library to help you get started quickly. You can download the library through the Arduino library manager by searching 'SparkFun MCP9600' or you can get the GitHub repo as a .zip file and install the library from there. The SparkFun Qwiic Connect System is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. DescriptionThe LIDAR-Lite v4 LED sensor is the next step in the LIDAR-Lite line. A small, lightweight, low-power optical ranging sensor. It's the first to incorporate ANT profile wireless networking technology into an optical sensor. Its built-in nRF52840 processor means that developers can create custom applications, or be operated as a stand-alone device right out of the box by using the preloaded stock application.Like the LIDAR-Lite v3 and LIDAR-Lite v3HP sensors; it can also be directly connected to an external micro-controller running a custom user application. As such, it provides a highly adaptable option for OEM and maker applications in robotics, Internet of Things, and unmanned vehicles ― or any application where an ultrasonic sensor might otherwise be used. It's perfect as the basic building block for applications where wireless capabilities, small size, light weight, low power consumption and high performance are important factors in a short-range, 10-meter, optical distance measuring sensor. The LIDAR-Lite v4 requires an external 5VDC power source and soldering is required. This Time-of-Flight ranging module uses a LED and optics for ranging. It does not use a laser; therefore, it is inherently eye-safe under normal usage.FeaturesResolution:1 cmMeasurement repeatability:As measured indoors to a 90% reflective target1 cm is equivalent to 1 standard deviationUsing "high accuracy" mode, with averaging:+/- 1 cm to 2 meters+/- 2 cm to 4 meters+/- 5 cm to 10 metersRange:5 cm to 10 meters(as measured from back of unit)Update rate:I2C = >200 Hz typicalANT(R)= up to 200 Hz to a 90% target indoors at 2m in normal operating modeInterface:I2C or ANT; user configurable for SPI using the Nordic SDKPower(operating voltage):4.75 - 5.25 VDCCurrent consumption:2mA idle, 85mA during acquisitionOperating temperature:-20 to 60° CLED wavelength:940 nmBeam divergence:4.77°Optical aperture:14.9 mmUnit size(HxWxD):2.1"×0.8"×0.9"(52.2×21.2×24.0 mm)Weight:14.6 g(0.5 oz)

DescriptionThe SparkFun 3.3V FTDI Starter Kit gives you just what you need to get started with FTDI FT232RL USB to serial IC. The pinout of the included board matches the FTDI cable standard to work with official Arduino and cloned 3.3V Arduino boards. It can also be used for general serial applications. The major difference with this board is that it brings out the DTR pin as opposed to the RTS pin of the FTDI cable. The DTR pin allows an Arduino target to auto-reset when a new Sketch is downloaded. This is a really nice feature to have and allows a sketch to be downloaded without having to hit the reset button. This board will auto reset any Arduino board that has the reset pin brought out to a 6-pin connector. The SparkFun FTDI Basic Breakout was designed to decrease the cost of Arduino development and increase ease of use(the auto-reset feature rocks!). Our Arduino Pro and LilyPad boards use this type of connector. The included cable is a USB 2.0 type B to Mini-B 5-pin black cable.

A LilyPad Coin Cell Battery Holder with a CR2032 coin cell battery provides all the power you need for the circuit. All you need to do is design how you want your project to be laid out, and then snap everything apart!Note:A portion of this sale is given back to Dr. Leah Buechley for continued development and education in e-textiles.Note:Due to the requirements of shipping the included battery, orders may take longer to process and therefore do not qualify for same-day shipping. Additionally, these batteries cannot be shipped via Ground or Economy methods to Alaska or Hawaii. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.Get Started with the LilyPad E-Sewing ProtoSnap Guide

DescriptionSometimes we want our projects on, but sometimes we want to turn them off for a while to save power. The SparkFun Nano Power Timer will run while only consuming minimal power(approximately 35nA)and turn your project on after a set amount of time. When you are done polling your sensors, posting data to the web, writing to your logger, or planning world domination, your microcontroller can tell the Nano Power Timer to turn off the power. No more running your microcontroller all day when you only want to read the ambient temperature once per hour. The TPL5110 delay is configured with the use of resistors. We've added a six-way DIP switch to select one of the five preinstalled resistors. The sixth switch is attached to a pad to add your own PTH(or SMD)resistor. The delays associated with the preinstalled headers are shown on the bottom of the board for quick setup. Additionally, you can select more than one switch to combine the resistors in parallel(up to 26 options not including the custom resistor), check out the hookup guide for a nice chart as to the total resistance and corresponding delay for each combination. The Nano Power Timer can handle voltages between 1.8V and 5.5V as well as current up to 1.1A with times from 100ms to two hours(preconfigured settings range from 30s to 2h). You will find a button on the board which will allow you a quick override to the delay so you can turn your project on whenever you like.Get Started with the SparkFun Nano Power SwitchFeaturesSupply Voltage:1.8V to 5.5VCurrent consumption at 2.5V:35nA Typical(50nA Max)Selectable Time intervals:100ms to 7200s(2 hours)Timer Accuracy:1%

DescriptionThe XBee3 Thing Plus is an ultra-capable and easy way for getting into wireless device development. The combination of XBee and Qwiic in a space-conscious design represents a much-needed update to our XBee offering. With 20 I/O pins and Lithium-Polymer Ion battery management, the XBee3 Thing Plus has all the basics for quickly prototyping or developing a connected device such as a remote sensor. The Qwiic connector and JST connector for the battery make for a solder-less option when working with the board which shortens setup time. The new XBee3 Micro Module provides the classic, near plug and play 802.15.4 2.4GHz wireless connection(Zigbee 3.0 Protocol)that makes it so desirable, but with a new addition of being programmable with MicroPython(32KB of memory available for it). RF data rates up to 250Kbps and 200 ft indoor ranges and up to 4000 ft line-of-sight outdoor range. Communicating with/Configuring the module happens via an AT Command set or the Digi API, X-CTU, both locally or over-the-air. There's even a mobile version of X-CTU now; Digi XBee(R)Mobile.Note:This variation uses a chip antenna and is not compatible with external antennas.Get Started With the SparkFun XBee3 Thing Plus GuideFeaturesXBee3 Micro ModuleSilicon Labs EFR32MG SoC250Kbps RF, 1Mbps Serial data ratesIndoor/Urban range up to 200 ft(60 m)Outdoor/RF Line of Sight range up to 4000 ft(1200 m)+8 dBm transmit power-103 dBm receiver sensitivityUART, I2C, SPI Interfaces(SPI currently not available at this time, but broken out on the board)ISM 2.4GHz Frequency Band(802.15.4)1MB of memory, 128KB RAM(32KB available for MicroPython)20 GPIO PinsConfigurable via X-CTU or AT Command set via both USB and Wirelessly(second XBee 3 device required for wireless configuration unless you're using the mobile app)Qwiic CompatibleOn-board charging circuit and connector for 3.3v Lithium Polymer Ion Batteries(see related products for compatible batteries)2.6VDC - 3.6VDC supply voltageOn-board Chip Antenna
