DescriptionThe SparkFun Load Cell Amplifier is a small breakout board for the HX711 IC that allows you to easily read load cells to measure weight. By connecting the amplifier to your microcontroller you will be able to read the changes in the resistance of the load cell, and with some calibration you'll be able to get very accurate weight measurements. This can be handy for creating your own industrial scale, process control or simple presence detection. This version of the SparkFun Load Cell Amplifier features a few changes that you specifically asked for! We have separated the analog and digital supply, as well as added a 3.3uH inductor and a 0.1uF filter capacitor for digital supply. Need even more? Checkout the SparkFun Qwiic Scale. It has all the features of the HX711 but with additional library support, a true I2C interface, and no soldering required! The HX711 uses a two-wire interface(Clock and Data)for communication. Any microcontroller's GPIO pins should work, and numerous libraries have been written, making it easy to read data from the HX711. Check the hookup guide below for more information.Load cells use a four-wire Wheatstone bridge configuration to connect to the HX711. These are commonly colored RED, BLK, WHT, GRN and YLW. Each color corresponds to the conventional color coding of load cells:Red(Excitation+ or VCC)Black(Excitation- or GND)White(Amplifier-, Signal- or Output-)Green(A+, S+ or O+)Yellow(Shield)The YLW pin acts as an optional input that is not hooked up to the strain gauge but is utilized to ground and shield against outside EMI(electromagnetic interference). Please keep in mind that some load cells might have slight variations in color coding.Note:Special thanks to Bodge for supplying the Library for the HX711!Get Started with the HX711 Load Cell Amplifier GuideFeaturesOperation Voltage:2.7V--5VOperation Current:< 1.5mASelectable 10SPS or 80SPS output data rateSimultaneous 50 and 60Hz supply rejection

DescriptionThis is a small 12mm round speaker that operates around the audible 2kHz range. You can use these speakers to create simple music or user interfaces. This is not a true piezoelectric speaker but behaves similarly. Instead of a piezoelectric crystal that vibrates with an electric current, this tiny speaker uses an electromagnet to drive a thin metal sheet. That means you need to use some form of alternating current to get sound. The good news is that this speaker is tuned to respond best with a square wave(e.g. from a microcontroller).

DescriptionThis is the SparkFun RFM69 Breakout, a small piece of tech that breaks out all the pins available on the RFM69HCW module as well as making the transceiver easy to use. The RFM69HCW is an inexpensive and versatile radio module that operates in the unlicensed ISM(Industry, Science and Medicine)radio band. It's perfect for building inexpensive short-range wireless networks of sensors and actuators for home automation, citizen science and more. This RFM69HCW operates on the 434MHz frequency and is capable of transmitting at up to 100mW and up to 300kbps, but you can change both of those values to fit your application. For example, you can maximize range by increasing the transmit power and reducing the data rate, or you can reduce both for short-range sensor networks that sip battery power. At full power and with simple wire antennas, we can get messages from one side of a large office building to the other through numerous internal walls. In open air you can reach 500 meters or more. With more complex antennas and modulation schemes, similar parts have successfully transmitted from space to the ground(by very smart amateur radio enthusiasts; your mileage may vary)! The RFM69HCW uses an SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface)to communicate with a host microcontroller, and several good Arduino libraries are available. It supports up to 256 networks of 255 nodes per network, features AES encryption to keep your data private, and transmits data packets up to 66 bytes long.SparkFun sells two versions of the RFM69HCW:a 915MHz version and this 434MHz version. Although the ISM band is license-free, the band itself is different in different areas. Very roughly, 915MHz is for use in the Americas, and the 434MHz version is for use in Europe, Asia and Africa. Check your local regulations for other areas.Get Started with the RFM69HCW Hookup GuideFeaturesTransmit power:-18dBm(0.016mW)to +20dBm(100mW)in 1dBm stepsReceive sensitivity:down to -120dBm at 1.2kbpsModulation types:FSK GFSK MSK GMSK OOKBit rates(FSK):1.2kbps to 300kbpsVoltage range:1.8V to 3.6VCurrent consumption:0.1uA sleep, 1.25mA standby, 16mA receive, 130mA transmit(max)Encryption:AES 128-bit(optional)Packet buffer(FIFO):66 bytes0.8"×1.1"

DescriptionThe MCP9600 Breakout is a high accuracy Thermocouple Amplifier equipped with an I2C interface, accessed over our Qwiic system. Inside the chip are two temperature sensors, one for the thermocouple itself(the hot junction)and one for the chip itself(the cold junction). As a result, the MCP9600 can read both the ambient temperature and the temperature of whatever you're trying to measure! The MCP9600 can do both with a resolution of 0.0625℃, and an accuracy of ±1.5℃(worst-case). The MCP9600 Thermocouple Amplifier is one of our many Qwiic compatible boards! Simply plug and go. No soldering, no figuring out which is SDA or SCL, and no voltage regulation or translation required! This version of the board comes equipped with screw terminals to allow for your own Thermocouple's wiring to be hooked up with the turn of a screw. This makes it perfect for a variety of applications, from measuring the temperature of your Crock-Pot to making sure your backyard induction furnace is up to temperature. In addition, the MCP9600 has four on-board temperature alerts that you can configure! Instead of constantly polling the sensor over I2C, you can set a temperature limit to trigger an interrupt when the temperature reaches a certain value. This frees up your microcontroller and your I2C bus to do more important things. It's also possible to put the MCP9600 into alternate operation modes in order to save power. The sensor supports a burst mode, where it will take a specified number of samples, return the results, and then go to sleep. This low-power mode makes the MCP9600 perfect for portable applications! We've written an Arduino library to help you get started quickly. DescriptionThe SparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Sensor is an I2C based biometric sensor, utilizing two chips from Maxim Integrated:the MAX32664 Biometric Sensor Hub and the MAX30101 Pulse Oximetry and Heart Rate Module. While the latter does all the sensing, the former is an incredibly small and fast Cortex M4 processor that handles all of the algorithmic calculations, digital filtering, pressure/position compensation, advanced R-wave detection, and automatic gain control. We've provided a Qwiic connector to easily connect to the I2C data lines but you will also need to connect to two additional lines. This board is very small, measuring at 1in×0.5in(25.4mm×12.7mm), which means it will fit nicely on your finger without all the bulk. The MAX30101 does all the sensing by utilizing its internal LEDs to bounce light off the arteries and arterioles in your finger's subcutaneous layer and sensing how much light is absorbed with its photodetectors. This is known as photoplethysmography. This data is passed onto and analyzed by the MAX32664 which applies its algorithms to determine heart rate and blood oxygen saturation(SpO2). SpO2 results are reported as the percentage of hemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen. It also provides useful information such as the sensor's confidence in its reporting as well as a handy finger detection data point. To get the most out of the sensor we've written an Arduino Library to make it easy to adjust all the possible configurations. The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. All Qwiic-enabled boards use a common 1mm pitch, 4-pin JST connector. This reduces the amount of required PCB space, and polarized connections mean you can't hook it up wrong.Get Started with the Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Monitor Hookup GuideFeaturesSparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate SensorMAX30101 and MAX32664 sensor and sensor hubQwiic connectors for power and I2C interfaceI2C Address:0x55MAX30101 - Pulse Oximeter and Heart-Rate SensorHeart-Rate Monitor and Pulse Oximeter Sensor in LED Reflective SolutionIntegrated Cover Glass for Optimal, Robust PerformanceUltra-Low Power Operation for Mobile DevicesFast Data Output CapabilityRobust Motion Artifact ResilienceMAX32664 - Ultra-Low Power Biometric Sensor HubBiometric Sensor Hub SolutionFinger-Based Algorithms Measure Pulse Heart Rate and Pulse Blood Oxygenation Saturation(SpO2)Both Raw and processed data are availableBasic Peripheral mix optimizes size and performance

DescriptionThe SparkFun MAX31855K Thermocouple Breakout is a simple 14-bit resolution, SPI-compatible, serial interface thermocouple digitizer that makes reading a wide range of temperatures possible. A thermocouple works by taking two wires made of dissimilar metals, connecting them at the two ends, and making a temperature gradient between one end and the other(a 'hot' end and a 'cold' one). Once this is achieved, a voltage potential is formed and current flows. The SparkFun Thermocouple Breakout takes a standard Type-K thermocouple in one end, digitizes the temperature measured and sends that data out the other end via a SPI interface, thereby interpreting the data and translating it for you to read! With the SparkFun Thermocouple Breakout, the thermocouple's hot junction can be read from -200℃ to +700℃ with an accuracy of ±2℃ while the cold junction, inside the MAX31855K, can only range from -20℃ to +85℃ while maintaining ±2℃ accuracy. The MAX31855K constantly measures the temperature of the cold junction using an internal temperature-sensing diode. The MAX31855K requires a power source from +3.0V to +3.6V(+3.0V nominal)and only draws 1.5mA maximum. The Thermocouple Breakout is designed to accept a standard thermocouple connector, for convenience and compatibility with probes you may already own. These connectors aren't necessary, and you could solder a thermocouple directly into the through-holes labeled '+' and '-'. If you decide to solder the thermocouple directly to the breakout board, it is recommended that the thermocouple be mounted for strain relief to avoid breaking the thin wires. Notches for a zip-tie or wire wrapping have been provided in the PCB opposite the header for this purpose.Features14-bit ResolutionSPI-Compatible, Serial Interface-200℃ to +700℃ Temperature Reading with ±2℃ Accuracy3.0V to 3.6V(+3.0V nominal)RequiredAccepts Type-K Thermocouple

DescriptionThe SparkFun Continuous Rotation(CR)Servo Trigger is a small robotics board that simplifies the control of hobby RC servo motors. When an external switch or logic signal changes state, the CR Servo Trigger is able to tell an attached servo motor to move from position A to position B. To use the CR Servo Trigger, you simply connect a hobby servo and a switch, then use the on-board potentiometers to adjust the start/stop positions and the transition time. You can use a hobby servo in your projects without having to do any programming! When we introduced the original Servo Trigger, we mentioned that it could be reprogrammed to be more useful with continuous rotation servo motors. But reprogramming the firmware is somewhat tedious, and users asked for a Servo Trigger preprogrammed with the continuous rotation logic. With this little board you will be provided an easy way to deploy continuous rotation servos into your projects! The heart of the CR Servo Trigger is an Atmel ATtiny84 microcontroller, running a small program that implements the servo control features designed for continuous rotation servos. On board each of these CR Servo Triggers you will find three potentiometers:"A" sets the position the servo sits in while the switch is open, "B" sets the position the servo moves to when the switch is closed, and "T" sets the time it takes to get from A to B and back.Compared with a servo motor, the CR Servo Trigger board draws very little current, roughly 5mA at 5V. Be sure to note that if you're using the CR Servo Trigger to control your motor, the absolute maximum supply voltage that should be applied is 5.5 VDC. Additionally, the SparkFun CR Servo Trigger is designed to make it easy to daisy chain boards - you can simply connect the VCC and GND pads on adjacent boards to each other.Note:This idea originally came from our friend in the Oakland area, CTP. If you see him, please give him a high-five for us.SparkFun CR Servo Trigger Hookup GuideFeaturesRecommended Voltage:5VDCMax Voltage:5.5VDCCurrent Draw:5mAControl Continuous Rotation ServosThree Control SettingsA - sets the position the servo sits in while the switch is openB - sets the position the servo moves to when the switch is closedC - sets the time it takes to get from A to B and backEasy Control with PotentiometersConfigurable Input PolarityConfigurable Response ModeCompatible with Analog ServosISP Header Pins Available for Reprogram
