DescriptionLIDAR has never looked so good! This is the LIDAR-Lite v3HP, a compact, high-performance optical distance measurement sensor from Garmin(TM). The LIDAR-Lite v3HP istheideal optical ranging solution for drone, robot, or unmanned vehicle applications. Each sensor is housed in a durable, IPX7-rated housing and includes all the core features and user configurability of the popular LIDAR-Lite v3.The v3HP is very similar in function to that of the v3 but it can now sample faster at rates greater than 1kHz(where as the v3 is only capable of up to 500Hz). Another improvement is that this v3HP model is more power efficient with current consumption rates 40mA less than the v3(that's 65mA as opposed to 105mA while idle, and 85mA instead of 130mA while acquiring). Each LIDAR-Lite v3HP has a range of 1m to 40m and features an edge-emitting, 905nm(1.3 watts), single-stripe laser transmitter, 8m Radian beam divergence, and an optical aperture of 12.5mm. This version of the LIDAR-Lite still operates at 5VDC(6V max)with a peak power of 1.3W and still possesses an accuracy of +/- 2.5cm at >2m. On top of everything else, the LIDAR-Lite is user-configurable, allowing adjustment between accuracy, operating range and measurement time and can be interfaced via I2C or PWM with the attached 200mm cable.Note:CLASS 1 LASER PRODUCT CLASSIFIED EN/IEC 60825-1 2014. With a 4-wire SPI interface and microSD card holder, you can use this breakout to easily add visual display/interface capabilities to a project as well as providing all the storage you might need for multimedia files. To get started with this breakout, you will need an Arduino compatible microcontroller of your choice - we recommend something with extra RAM like the SparkFun Thing Plus. The breakout can be powered with either 5V or 3.3V. The microSD card holder is connected to the same SPI bus as the display which keeps the required pin count low and exists to relieve the burden from your microcontroller's poor memory due to having to store hundreds of images of cats, or really whatever you want to keep there. We have also gone ahead and tricked out the SparkFun HyperDisplay library with a driver made especially for this breakout!Out of the box, the SparkFun TFT LCD Breakout will come with a large backing PCB that makes it easy to securely mount the display in a project. If you need a more flexible solution you can remove the display module, snap off half the backing board, and then re-insert the display module. DescriptionNo, this isn't a tank tread, this is a 0.5m long Cable Carrier with 10x15mm bits composing its main body and two screw fasteners at each end for efficient mounting. Sometimes called a "drag chain," each carrier can be used in projects with a large number of moving parts to protect internally installed cables, pipes, or tubes so they can be bent and moved while remaining protected. Cable carriers can most commonly been found in 3D printers and CNC machines but they can be used in any situation where you need cables or tubes to bend without risk of them being damaged or wearing out prematurely. This specific cable carrier offers inner dimensions of 10mm(height)by 15mm(wide), an outer width of 22mm, and a bend radius of 20mm. Additionally, these carriers are thin enough to fit into an Actobotics channel, making custom slide machines or other projects even easier to manage. DescriptionThe SparkFun Inventor's Kit(SIK)for Arduino Uno is a great way to get started with programming and hardware interaction with the Arduino programming language. The SIK includes everything you need to complete five overarching projects consisting of 16 interconnected circuits that teach everything from blinking an LED to reading sensors. The culminating project is your very own autonomous robot! No previous programming or electronics experience is required to use this kit.The online guide contains step-by-step instructions with circuit diagrams and hookup tables for building each project and circuit with the included parts. Full example code is provided, new concepts and components are explained at point of use, and troubleshooting tips offer assistance if something goes wrong. The kit does not require any soldering and is recommended for beginners ages 10 and up who are looking for an Arduino starter kit. For SIK version 4.1 we took an entirely different approach to teaching embedded electronics. In previous versions of the SIK, each circuit focused on introducing a new piece of technology. With SIK v4.1, components are introduced in the context of the circuit you are building, and each circuit builds upon the last, leading up to a project that incorporates all of the components and concepts introduced throughout the guide. With new parts and a completely new strategy, even if you've used the SIK before, you're in for a brand-new experience! This version of the SIK replaces the SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic with the Arduino Uno(SMD version)and comes without the SIK guidebook and carrying case. With these components being swapped and removed, we were able to reduce the overall size and weight of the kit, making shipping cheaper and easier for anyone ordering internationally.Note:As stated above, this SIK does NOT include a carrying case or print guidebook.Get Started With the SparkFun Inventor's Kit v4.1 Experiment GuideExamplesProject 1:LightCircuit 1A:Blinking an LEDCircuit 1B:PotentiometerCircuit 1C:PhotoresistorCircuit 1D:RGB Night-LightProject 2:SoundCircuit 2A:BuzzerCircuit 2B:Digital TrumpetCircuit 2C:"Simon Says" GameProject 3:MotionCircuit 3A:Servo MotorsCircuit 3B:Distance SensorCircuit 3C:Motion AlarmProject 4:DisplayCircuit 4A:LCD "Hello, World!"Circuit 4B:Temperature SensorCircuit 4C:"DIY Who Am I?" DescriptionAdd another eight pins to your microcontroller using a MCP23008 port expander. The MCP23008 uses two I2C pins which can be shared with other I2C devices, and in exchange gives you eight general purpose pins. You can set each of eight pins to be input, output, or input with a pullup. There's even the ability to get an interrupt via an external pin when any of the inputs change so you don't have to keep polling the chip.Use this chip from 2.7-5.5V(good for any 3.3V or 5V setup), and you can sink/source up to 20mA from any of the I/O pins so this will work for LEDs and such. Team it up with a high-power MOSFET if you need more juice. DIP package means it will plug into any breadboard or perfboard. You can set the I2C address by tying the ADDR0-2 pins to power or ground, for up to eight unique addresses. That means eight chips can share a single I2C bus - that's 64 I/O pins!Features8-bit remote bidirectional I/O portHigh-speed I2C interface(MCP23008)Hardware address pinsConfigurable interrupt output pinConfigurable interrupt sourcePolarity Inversion register for input port data polarity config.External reset inputLow standby current:1 μA(max.)・ Operating voltage:1.8V to 5.5V @ -40℃ to +85℃ I2C @ 100 kHz SPI @ 5 MHz2.7V to 5.5V @ -40℃ to +85℃ I2C @ 400 kHz SPI @ 10 MHz4.5V to 5.5V @ -40℃ to +125℃ I2C @ 1.7 kHz SPI @ 10 MHz

DescriptionThe SparkFun ProtoShield Kit lets you customize your own Arduino shield using whatever circuit you can come up with and then test it to make sure everything is working the way it should! The SparkFun ProtoShield Kit is based off the Arduino R3's footprint that allows you to easily incorporate it with favorite Arduino-based device. One of our favorite features with this version of the ProtoShield Kit is the solderable-like breadboard prototyping area! Half of this area was designed with a breadboard in mind. On the underside of the shield you will be able to see open jumper pads between each through hole to make a connection like a breadboard. Once you add a component, simply add a solder jumper between holes to make a connection. For those that prefer the standard prototyping pads, we left the other side(near the BlueSMiRF and Serial UART ports)as is.We have also moved the prototype testing components(those used to make sure your circuit works effectively)off of the "mainland" of the shield and onto a ProtoSnap styled, removable PCB. On this test area you will find soldering areas for the two yellow 3mm LEDs(as well as pins to control and power them), two 330 Ohm resistors, a 10K Ohm resistor, and a pushbutton.Note:Since this product is a kit, assembly and a basic knowledge of soldering will be required. We updated the silk on the breakout to read "C/+/-" instead of "R/W/B" and moved the temperature sensor connector away from the standoff hole. You can either use four individual load sensors or simply purchase an off-the-shelf bathroom scale and hack the combinator into it rather than trying to design a base to properly mount four load sensors. This board works great with our Load Cell Amplifier breakout board; the five pins on the edge of the combinator line up directly to the five pins on the amplifier. If your amplifier and supporting electronics are more than a few inches away from the scale, an RJ45 footprint is provided. The four Wheatstone pins(E+/E-/S+/S-)as well as the shield pin are connected to twisted pairs within a standard cheap Ethernet cable. This allows the amplifier board to be placed many feet away from the scale itself. The combinator board also includes a footprint for the DS18B20 one-wire temperature sensor. This allows the user to gather the temperature of the scale in case there is a large variance between the scale and the amplifier. These three pins are accessed through the RJ45 connection as well, allowing remote temperature readings to be gathered over one twisted pair Ethernet cable.NOTE:The SparkFun Load Sensor Combinator will only work with 3 wire load sensors, it is not compatible with 4 wire load cells.

DescriptionIt's time to say hip hip array for this IR Breakout! The MLX90640 SparkFun IR Array Breakout is equipped with a 32x24 array of thermopile sensors creating, in essence, a low resolution thermal imaging camera. With this breakout you can detect surface temperatures from many feet away with an accuracy of ±1.5℃(best case). To make it even easier to get your infrared image, all communication is enacted exclusively via I2C, utilizing our handy Qwiic system. However, we still have broken out 0.1"-spaced pins in case you prefer to use a breadboard. This specific IR Array Breakout features a55°x35°field of view with a temperature measurement range of -40℃-300℃. The MLX90640 IR Array has pull up resistors attached to the I2C bus; both can be removed by cutting the traces on the corresponding jumpers on the back of the board. Please be aware that the MLX90640 requires complex calculations by the host platform so a regular Arduino Uno(or equivalent)doesn't have enough RAM or flash to complete the complex computations required to turn the raw pixel data into temperature data. You will need a microcontroller with 20,000 bytes or more of RAM. To achieve this, we recommend a Teensy 3.1 or above. The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. DescriptionThe SparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Sensor is an I2C based biometric sensor, utilizing two chips from Maxim Integrated:the MAX32664 Biometric Sensor Hub and the MAX30101 Pulse Oximetry and Heart Rate Module. While the latter does all the sensing, the former is an incredibly small and fast Cortex M4 processor that handles all of the algorithmic calculations, digital filtering, pressure/position compensation, advanced R-wave detection, and automatic gain control. We've provided a Qwiic connector to easily connect to the I2C data lines but you will also need to connect to two additional lines. This board is very small, measuring at 1in×0.5in(25.4mm×12.7mm), which means it will fit nicely on your finger without all the bulk. The MAX30101 does all the sensing by utilizing its internal LEDs to bounce light off the arteries and arterioles in your finger's subcutaneous layer and sensing how much light is absorbed with its photodetectors. This is known as photoplethysmography. This data is passed onto and analyzed by the MAX32664 which applies its algorithms to determine heart rate and blood oxygen saturation(SpO2). SpO2 results are reported as the percentage of hemoglobin that is saturated with oxygen. It also provides useful information such as the sensor's confidence in its reporting as well as a handy finger detection data point. To get the most out of the sensor we've written an Arduino Library to make it easy to adjust all the possible configurations. The SparkFun Qwiic connect system is an ecosystem of I2C sensors, actuators, shields and cables that make prototyping faster and less prone to error. DescriptionThis single disc load cell(sometimes called a strain gauge)can translate up to 50kg of pressure(force)into an electrical signal. Each load cell is able to measure the electrical resistance that changes in response to, and proportional of, the strain(e.g. pressure or force)applied to the disc. With this gauge you will be able to tell just how heavy an object is, if an object's weight changes over time, or if you simply need to sense the presence of an object by measuring strain or load applied to a surface.Disc load cells are a bit easier to mount than bar-style load cells, making them more straightforward to implement into a design. Each load cell is made from an steel-alloy and is capable of reading a capacity of 50kg. These load cells have four strain gauges that are hooked up in a wheatstone bridge formation. The color code on the wiring is as follows:red = E+, green = O+, black = E-, and white = O-. DescriptionThis is a 16mm deluxe thumb joystick and is very similar to the 'analog' joysticks found inside PlayStation controllers. Directional movements are provided simply by two potentiometers - one for each axis. These 10k potentiometers will read the position changes for the joystick's full range of physical motion. This joystick also has a select button that is actuated when the joystick is pressed down. The mechanical parts found in this joystick are mostly metal and are considered far sturdier(rugged, if you will)than other, plastic joystick options.Note:This thumb joystick does not include a top cap and it will need to be purchased separately. Additionally, the leads on the housing of this joystick are much thicker than the leads on the trimpots &; push button components. When soldering to BOB-9110, we recommend using a pair of fine tip tweezers to guide each pin into the correct hole before pushing down.
