The two large， exposed pads function as probes for the sensor， together acting as a variable resistor. The more water that is in the soil means the better the conductivity between the pads will be， resulting in a lower resistance and a higher SIG out. DescriptionThe SparkFun I2S Audio Breakout board uses the MAX98357A digital to analog converter(DAC)， which converts I2S(not be confused with I2C)audio to an analog signal to drive speakers. The I2S Audio Breakout converts the digital audio signals using the I2S standard to an analog signal and amplifies the signal using a class D amplifier which can deliver up to 3.2W of power into a 4Ω load. The MCP23008 uses two I2C pins which can be shared with other I2C devices， and in exchange gives you eight general purpose pins. You can set each of eight pins to be input， output， or input with a pullup. There's even the ability to get an interrupt via an external pin when any of the inputs change so you don't have to keep polling the chip.Use this chip from 2.7-5.5V(good for any 3.3V or 5V setup)， and you can sink/source up to 20mA from any of the I/O pins so this will work for LEDs and such. Team it up with a high-power MOSFET if you need more juice. DIP package means it will plug into any breadboard or perfboard.You can set the I2C address by tying the ADDR0-2 pins to power or ground， for up to eight unique addresses. DescriptionThis is the SparkFun RFM69 Breakout， a small piece of tech that breaks out all the pins available on the RFM69HCW module as well as making the transceiver easy to use. The RFM69HCW is an inexpensive and versatile radio module that operates in the unlicensed ISM(Industry， Science and Medicine)radio band. It's perfect for building inexpensive short-range wireless networks of sensors and actuators for home automation， citizen science and more.This RFM69HCW operates on the 434MHz frequency and is capable of transmitting at up to 100mW and up to 300kbps， but you can change both of those values to fit your application. For example， you can maximize range by increasing the transmit power and reducing the data rate， or you can reduce both for short-range sensor networks that sip battery power. At full power and with simple wire antennas， we can get messages from one side of a large office building to the other through numerous internal walls. In open air you can reach 500 meters or more. DescriptionThe SparkFun ProtoShield Kit lets you customize your own Arduino shield using whatever circuit you can come up with and then test it to make sure everything is working the way it should! The SparkFun ProtoShield Kit is based off the Arduino R3's footprint that allows you to easily incorporate it with favorite Arduino-based device.One of our favorite features with this version of the ProtoShield Kit is the solderable-like breadboard prototyping area! Half of this area was designed with a breadboard in mind. On the underside of the shield you will be able to see open jumper pads between each through hole to make a connection like a breadboard. Over its entire -55℃ to +125℃ operating range， the device has ±2.0℃ accuracy.The device communicates over a one-wire bus that， by definition， requires only one data line(and ground)for communication with a central microprocessor. DescriptionThe LilyMini ProtoSnap is a great way to get started learning about creating interactive e-textile circuits before you start sewing. Like other LilyPad ProtoSnap boards， the LilyMini ProtoSnap has all of its pieces wired together out of the box， enabling you to test the circuit's function before you sew. At the center of the board is a pre-programmed LilyMini microcontroller connected to a LilyPad Light Sensor， LilyPad Button and two pairs of LilyPad LEDs.The LilyMini ProtoSnap ships with pre-loaded code that uses all the LilyPad pieces connected to it. This sample code has three modes， which can be selected by pressing the LilyPad Button on the bottom-left side of the ProtoSnap. The built-in RGB LED on the LilyMini will change color to indicate which mode has been selected：White：All LEDs on.Magenta：LEDs fade in and out in a breathing pattern. When the light sensor is covered， LEDs fade faster.Cyan：LEDs off.
